- QUIC = Quick UDP Internet Connections
- The acronym is how it was originally proposed by Google, but the IETF does use it as such, but just as the protocol name
- UDP based transport protocol supported by all current (2023) major browsers, and enabled by default in all except Safari, making over 50% of all traffic entering Google (source: Wikipedia)
- The use of HTTP/2 over QUIC instead of TCP is called HTTP/3, per RFC 9114
